Milton Frank
Creative Mentor • Writer • Wordsmith • Storyteller
As a simplification of all things, Milton Frank can be described in one word – coincidentally ‘Words’. His is the art of writing honed over more than three decades in advertising and creative consultancy. His is the epitome of perfect English writing – grammatically flawless, incisive delivery, versatility (from succinctly short to long forms of writing) and the uncanny ability to find that precise word for that precise moment.
Milton has held down appointments such as National Creative Director, Mentor (Creative) and Executive Creative Director with various Indian advertising agencies. In that time, he has mentored creative teams; helped build brands; and interacted with head honchos, high ranking officials and decision makers in both the private and public sectors. He has worked on such brands as IndianOil, Volkswagen, Air India, Incredible India, Goa Tourism, Kerala Tourism, Kansai Nerolac, State Bank of India, Times OOH, Castrol, Jet Airways, Johnson & Johnson, Hettich, BlackBerry, Philips, Emperor Akbar Cardamom, Blend Finance, etc. His brand experience therefore straddles a spectrum of sectors from Tourism, Aviation, Oil and Automobiles to FMCG, BFSI, Consumer Electronics and Retail.
Amongst others, Milton has worked with advertising agencies such as DDB Mudra, Triton Communications and Zen Communications (since acquired by Publicis Group). A decisive strength is his competency across both conventional and new-age media.
Along the way, Milton has expanded his core writing competency to journalistic and related output. He has authored lead feature articles as well as columns in leading publications such as supplements of the Times of India and Economic Times. The subjects covered include sport, music and travel – commissioned by such global brands as Johnnie Walker and Smirnoff.
Milton’s versatility expands to creation of crosswords, which he has commercially developed for supplements of leading publications including the Times of India. His range of crosswords covers Quick, Cryptic and a variety of themes.
Another niche in Milton’s writing repertoire is scriptwriting and speechwriting. For over thirty years now, he has been scripting for renowned and celebrity anchors of high-profile events (corporate, entertainment, awards nites), as well as for high-ranking corporate head honchos.
Milton’s scriptwriting competency further extends to radio – over the past three decades, having scripted for thousands of music-related FM radio shows; for which his research and play-listing abilities are an added advantage.
In the scriptwriting space, Milton has also written scripts and concepts for innumerable corporate films as well as documentaries and commercials.
His deep domain knowledge has resulted in renowned Mass Media schools calling on his expertise as Visiting Faculty to aspiring mass media students. He has rendered this service to leading academic institutions including KC College and Xavier Institute of Communications.
Finally, the storyteller in Milton is being channeled into a full-length novel that he is presently authoring.
